Listen Up
No two people see the world exactly the same way. Since the primary use of personal and political power is to secure the satisfactions of our needs and wants, there is naturally a competitive tension found in all social interactions. However obvious, when building strong human relationships that can withstand attack and fatigue, acknowledging one another's needs and wants and agreeing to overarching core values and customs are essential if the coalition will endure.
While the #RESIST movement is growing under a general sense of common beliefs, our diversity of views are only a strength when they are voiced, heard, debated and considered. Unspoken and unmet needs, on the other hand, provide a source of resentment and fear that have historically been exploited in our status quo "wedge-issue" politics.
This regional effort is a listening and sharing project. It is completely voluntary. The objective is to gather and distribute as many diverse points of view to as diverse an audience as possible through as many diverse mediums as a precursor to real life meet-ups where citizens convene and draft a living Declaration of Human and Planetary Rights and Responsibilities that can aid us in reclaiming our society and our political system.
